Privacy Policy

Effective June 5, 2026 · Last updated June 5, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how GOOSE SOCIAL, LLC (“GOOSE SOCIAL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company formed in the State of Wyoming, United States, handles information in connection with the PopBox application (“PopBox” or the “App”) and the website at https://popbox.video (the “Site”).

PopBox is a native video player for Apple platforms, including iPhone (iOS), iPad (iPadOS), Mac (macOS), and Apple TV (tvOS). PopBox plays your own video files and connects to media servers and sources that you choose and control, including providers such as Plex, SMB, FTP, and Xtream, and similar sources. PopBox does not host, provide, stream, or sell any video content. You supply all content, all servers, and all credentials.

We designed PopBox to collect as little information as possible. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the App.

2. Information We Collect

PopBox is built to function without collecting personal information about you. The categories below describe the limited information involved when you use the App.

2.1 Information You Provide on Your Device

When you set up a connection to your own media server or source (for example, a Plex server or an SMB, FTP, or Xtream source), you enter connection details and credentials such as server addresses, usernames, and passwords. This information is stored locally on your device. Where appropriate, sensitive credentials are stored in the operating system keychain. We do not receive, transmit to ourselves, or store this information on our own systems. It is used only to connect to the servers and sources you choose.

2.2 Purchase Information

If you buy PopBox Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchase and StoreKit. Apple may provide us with limited, aggregated transaction information and an anonymous purchase token used to confirm and restore your purchase. We do not receive your payment card data and we do not receive your Apple ID.

2.3 Sync and Settings Data

If you enable Apple iCloud, your favorites and settings may sync across your own Apple devices using CloudKit under your own iCloud account. This data is stored in your iCloud account, which you control. We cannot read the private iCloud data associated with your account.

2.4 Device Token for Notifications (Where Applicable)

If we offer push notifications in the future and you choose to enable them, the Apple Push Notification service may process a device token so that notifications can reach your device. This is optional and applies only if you turn the feature on.

2.5 Aggregated App Analytics

We rely only on Apple’s standard, aggregated App Store and app analytics. These analytics are provided to us by Apple in aggregate form and do not identify you individually.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

To be clear about what PopBox does not do:

  • We do not require or maintain personal user accounts with us.
  • We do not collect or store your payment card data.
  • We do not add our own tracking or analytics SDKs.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not serve ads.
  • We do not use third-party payment or analytics services such as RevenueCat.

4. How Server and Source Credentials Are Handled

The credentials and connection details you enter for your own servers and sources stay on your device. Sensitive values are kept in the system keychain where appropriate. These details are used solely to establish the connections you request. We have no access to them, and we do not sync them to our servers.

You are responsible for keeping your own credentials secure and for the configuration and security of the servers and sources you connect to.

5. Purchases and Apple StoreKit

PopBox uses a freemium model. A free tier is available with limits, and PopBox Pro can be unlocked through Apple In-App Purchase using Apple StoreKit.

Apple processes all payments. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple ties your purchase to your Apple ID and provides us with an anonymous purchase token and limited, aggregated transaction information so that we can deliver and restore the features you bought. We do not receive your Apple ID from this process. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

6. iCloud and CloudKit Sync

If you use iCloud, PopBox can sync your favorites and settings across your own Apple devices through CloudKit. This sync happens within your personal iCloud account. The data is controlled by you, and we cannot read your iCloud private data. Apple’s processing of your iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

7. Optional Push Notifications

Push notifications, if offered, are optional. If you enable them, the Apple Push Notification service processes a device token to deliver messages to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

8. Analytics

We use only Apple’s standard, aggregated App Store and app analytics. We do not add separate tracking technologies, and we do not build individual user profiles. The aggregated reports Apple provides help us understand general usage and improve the App.

9. Third Parties

Two categories of third parties may be involved when you use PopBox:

  • Apple. Apple operates the App Store, processes In-App Purchases, and provides iCloud, push notifications, and aggregated analytics. Apple’s collection and use of information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
  • Your own servers and sources. When you connect to your own Plex, SMB, FTP, Xtream, or similar servers and sources, those connections and any content they hold are governed by your own arrangements and by the privacy policies and terms of those providers, not by us. We do not operate those servers, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

10. Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal accounts or store your credentials or content, there is little personal information for us to retain. Information stored on your device remains until you delete the App or remove it yourself. iCloud sync data remains in your iCloud account until you remove it. Any limited, aggregated transaction information provided by Apple is retained only as needed for business and legal purposes.

11. Security

We design PopBox to keep sensitive data on your device and to use the system keychain for credentials where appropriate. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing your device, your servers, and your credentials.

12. Children’s Privacy

PopBox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App’s content rating and age information are presented on the App Store. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with the App, please contact us at [email protected] so we can address it.

13. Your Privacy Rights

We collect little to no personal information about you. The sections below describe rights that may apply to you and how to exercise them. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. Because we hold little personal data, in many cases we may have no responsive information to provide.

13.1 EEA and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where we do process limited personal data, our legal bases are generally the performance of a contract (delivering the App and purchases you request) and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App.

13.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].

14. International Users and Data Transfers

PopBox is offered from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, any limited information involved may be processed in the United States or in other countries where Apple operates its services. By using the App, you understand that such processing may occur. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

15. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because we do not track users across other apps or websites, we do not respond differently to Do Not Track signals. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the dates shown for this document. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the App or Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
